The Deadpool sequel has shattered Thursday night debut records at the U.S. box office.
The action-packed superhero comedy, starring Ryan Reynolds, has become the first R-rated movie to pass $18 million on its opening night.
Deadpool 2 easily beats out It, which raked in $13.5 million last year.
The sequel expands to 4,349 theaters across North America on Friday, making it a record wide release for an R-rated title.
Experts predict the film will haul in $130 million over the weekend.
