The kidnappers of four pupils, a teacher and a Vice-Principal at Lagos Junior Model College have given the families of the victims 48 hours to pay ransoms placed of them, Punch reports.
The victims, who have spent their fifth day in captivity, were abducted on Thursday morning when gunmen invaded the school during morning prayers.
The kidnappers are said to have demanded a ransom of N6 million for the six victims following a reduction in the amount from N5 million for each victim.
One of the victims, a schoolboy is reported to be sick, with the kidnappers confirming that his condition is worsening as time progresses.
“The men called on Monday and said they gave the family till Wednesday to pay the ransom. While the family members begged them, the kidnappers let them realise that the health of the boy had worsened, but they would not release him without a good ransom. They had come down from N3.5m to N1m ransom,” revealed a source.
