For Zheng Chunhui, a Chinese sculptor, it took four years to carve a masterpiece from a single tree trunk.
For centuries, China has held a tradition of transforming pieces of raw wood into incredible sculptures. The result is a breathtaking masterpiece that impresses people from over the world.
The artwork is called “Along the River During the Qingming Festival”. It is a replica of an ancient Chinese scroll painting. The finished piece is over 40 feet long. It includes detailed carvings that depict daily living in ancient Chinese villages. By the way, over 550 villagers were carved out in the masterpiece!
The wood carving was unveiled at the Palace Museum in Beijing, China.
Also it has made its way into the Guinness Book of World Records!
