Hear him below;
Prolific Nigerian music producer and song writer Cobhams Asuquo and his wife, Ojuola got introduced to Ban Ki-Moon after an awkward encounter with the singer’s body guards.
Cobhams who recently worked with Bono on his trip to Nigeria shared what went down during the meet on his Facebook page.
This is what he had to say;
So @ojuola and I were standing just marveling at our good fortune when she noticed a small cluster of people slowly moving along. She was quick to spot Bono and I excitedly told her not to loose sight of him. I had earlier on recorded him for the #poverityissexist #StrongGirl campaign and he was so gracious, and kind and such a good sport.
As we made our way to him, some security men with arms made of steel barricaded the two of us instantly. @Ojuola quickly told one of them how he and I are friends and he responded in the same way you would if a pig told you he could fly. Suddenly the procession slowed to a halt and some of Bono’s protocols started smiling in our direction. Bono himself spotted me and shouted ‘Cobhams!’ Everything changed instantly!
In Milliseconds, we were embracing, holding hands and chatting as the security watched on. Bono then paused for a second and dragged Ban Ki-Moon into the circle. He introduced me with such glowing remarks that I wasn’t sure who he was talking about after a while. So there i was with two of the greatest men in the world having a conversation as though it was a normal day.
All because someone important remembered me and chose to treat me like a friend. No one would have blamed me if he treated me otherwise but because of his gesture he made me important too. You never know how what you do can lift a person up #fbf #Bono #bankimoon @Juola Yetunde Asuquo
