This teenager might have the best job in the world – playing Grand Theft Auto for a living.
A-level student and GTA V enthusiast Fred Pye from Shrewsbury brings £24,000-a-year by making and posting helpful how-to videos online.
Fred’s YouTube channel boasts almost 2.5million unique visitors per month and has over 140,000 subscribers, with advertising netting him £2,000 per month.
All this despite not technically being old enough to buy the game at all – he’s 17.
“At first my parents wanted me to get off the computer,” Fred, known as NoughtPointFour online, told the Shropshire Star.
“I had been uploading videos to YouTube for about two-and-a-half years and then really got in to Grand Theft Auto V.
“But since they saw how well I was doing they have been really encouraging. It is all down to the game really.”
The game’s wild success has seen Fred’s burgeoning ‘business’ go from strength to strength.
“The videos purely help people with the game. I enjoy creating them so that people can get the most out of Grand Theft Auto V as it is such a good game,” he added.
“I help them go beyond a superficial level and enter into another level of the game.”
