Diamond Bank Plc boardroom is at the moment in severe crisis which if not managed may pull down the financial institution.

The fight between the board of directors of the bank which include; HRM, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, Chief John D. Edozien, Dr. Olubola Adekunle Hassan, Mr. Chris Ogbechie, Mr. Ian Greenstreet, Ms. Ngozi Edozien, Mr. Thomas Barry, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, Mr. Christopher Low, Alhaji Kabir Alkali Mohammed and the Group Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Alex Otti, we gathered, is becoming messier as the days go by.

Investigation revealed that it has to do with Otti’s governorship ambition. Alex Otti is said to have been frequenting Umuahia lately and lobbying Governor Theordore Orji to help him run for either governorship seat or the Abia North Senatorial seat come 2015. A development that has seen him delegating serious duties he should have attended to by himself.

Paschal Dozie was said to have discovered that Otti had taken his political ambition more seriously than discharging his duties at the office and after several moves to make Otti step down as the bank’s MD which did not yield any result Dozie had allegedly placed his son, Uzoma to under study Otti for the time being and as well prepare him to take over the mantle of leadership of the bank.

Meanwhile, as a result of Otti’s negligence of his duties, series of monumental frauds were said to have taken place in the bank lately.

Dozie, according to our source, awaits the expiration of Otti’s tenure as MD, but while that happens one cannot tell how safe depositors’ money will be under Diamond Bank’s care. The current situation may suggest customers liquidating their Diamond Bank accounts and moving their money to a safer bank.
