A top source told MTNFootball.com: “Elderson has made it very clear to his club Braga that he wishes to leave during this transfer window.”
The left back is currently with the Braga squad in Algrave, where they are involved in a pre-season tournament that also has English Premier League side West Ham and Sporting Lisbon.
Braga beat West Ham 1-0 in their opening game but the Nigeria defender was not part of the action.
He has been training with the squad since he returned from extended holidays in Nigeria.
Reports out of Turkey have already said Elderson has agreed to join Besiktas.
It is believed that discussions between both clubs have reached an advanced stage.
The star defender, who has featured for Rennes of France before joining Sporting Braga, has been linked with a move to several English Premier League clubs including Norwich City and Fulham.
He is under contract with Sporting Braga until June 2014.
