Rumours have surfaced over the possibility that Arsenal could re-sign former midfielder Mathieu Flamini.
Several years after departing the Emirates stadium to AC Milan, Flamini has returned to train with the club after failing to secure a contract extension at the San Siro.
The Frenchman, who played for the Gunners between 2004 and 2008, was released by AC Milan at the end of last campaign having spent five years at the club.
Flamini is now without a club and has been allowed to train with the Arsenal first team at London Colney after head coach Arsene Wenger agreed to allow the 29-year-old to maintain his fitness levels according to hereisthecity.com.
Despite Arsenal’s lack of depth in the defensive department, it is thought that Wenger has no interest in resigning Flamini, who can play at full-back and defensive midfield.
Flamini has however stated that he wants to play in the premier league with a bid to winning the Premier League title.
