Ne-Yo is dealing with some major baby mama drama, and it’s not from his current girl Monyetta who is raising his two kids. This past weekend, the couple were spotted at TI’s album release party in Atlanta just hours after news broke that Ne-Yo was being sued by an ex-girlfriend.
To catch you up to speed, before he signed his record deal, Ne-Yo had a baby with a chick name Jesseca White. He eventually found out the child was not his, however, since his name was on the birth certificate and he had claimed the kid as his own, Jesseca sued him for child support. In 2009, they reached a settlement and Ne-Yo paid Jesseca $575,000 in support and the couple went their separate ways.
Now, he’s being sued again by the same chick, this time because he spoke about the situation on his VH1 Behind The Music Special. According to her lawsuit, Ne-Yo was not suppose to talk about the situation publicly and he has caused her so much distress that she can not work and had to apply for welfare. She has also solicited the services of high power attorney Gloria Allred who is no stranger to making celebs and athletes cough off major dough to their side pieces, ex-wives and baby’s mothers.
Allred claims that because Ne-Yo falsely painted Jesseca as a harlot who lied, broke his heart and then vanished … Jesseca has been defamed, ridiculed and harassed. According to the letter, Jesseca has been unable to work, was forced to file for state aid, suffers from mental anguish and is “beset by nausea, vomiting and hair loss” thanks to Ne-Yo’s remarks. Jesseca is asking Ne-Yo to settle the matter amicably out of court (cough, cough $$$$) … otherwise she’ll be forced to pursue more serious legal options.
Back in November, we asked Ne-Yo what made him decide to speak on the situation during his VH1 Behind The Music and he dished:
Honestly, people feel like where I am right now, I’ve been my whole life. Like I didn’t struggle to get here. I needed people to understand that the struggle I went through, is the exact same struggle that you went through and if I overcame it, you can to. I wanted my fans to know that all of the issues you go through, I go through too. It’s not about the fall it’s the get back up.
The whole shock of finding out [the baby] wasn’t mine was a pain that was definitely real but it was short lived. As I said on the special, I was there when he was born, so as far as I was concerned, that was my son. Blood doesn’t make a father, that’s been proving time and time again. It was the things that happened after that. The fact that I didn’t want to give her all of these ungodly amounts of money and she decided to take me to court behind me being the good guy, behind me doing right, that’s what hurt the most. So, let me get this straight: I find out he’s not mine, I decide to raise him anyway and I get penalized for this? That’s the thing that really took a minute for me to get back in a place where I could even trust women again.
This justice system is crazy! A woman gets over a half of a million dollars for lying to her man about his son being his, meaning she obviously cheated on him in the relationship, and now she is able to sue again because he blabbed about it. Somewhere, some chick is taking notes.
