22 People Confirmed Dead, 59 Injured In Manchester Arena Bombing During Ariana Grande Concert
At least 22 people – including children – are dead and 59 more injured after a suicide bomber targeted youngsters leaving a packed pop concert at Manchester Arena last night in Britain’s worst terror attack since 7/7. Video footage (top right) showed thousands of people fleeing in tears from the venue (left), many covered in blood, after the Ariana Grande concert finished.
Police this morning confirmed the suicide bomber died after an improvised explosive device was detonated. A photo from inside the venue (centre) shows victims being treated by emergency services. It is thought many of those killed were parents waiting to pick up their children. Armed officers surrounded the venue and bloodied concertgoers were pictured being helped by emergency services outside the 21,000-seat gig.
Concert-goer Abby Mullen said: ‘People’s skin and faeces where everywhere including in my hair and on my bag. That sound, the blood and those who were running around clueless with body parts and bits of skin missing will not be leaving my mind any time soon or the minds of those involved.’
