The State Security Service has today, July 27th, arrested 10 suspected kidnappers in military Uniform that were terrorizing Kogi State.
Mr. Joseph Okpo, The Director of the Kogi State Command, paraded four of those arrested in full military uniform in Lokoja.
He reportedly affirmed that “six of them were arraigned on Tuesday, 26th July. Four members were arrested out of the six-man gang that had been operating along Abuja-Lokoja highway”.
He continued that Haruna Saleh, Kabiru Shuaibu, Mumuni Adamu and Tukur Shuaibu – confessed to different crimes. the suspects were already giving a very good lead on the source of their uniform. He explained.
The SSS director said investigation revealed that most of the kidnappers operating in the state were non-residents, lamenting that the people were taking advantage of the geographical location and the route structure of the state.
He however pledged that the command would continue to cooperate with other security agencies to fight crime in the state.
The robber apparently confessed to have been involved in some operations on the Maraba-Jos road, Malufashi on the Zaria-Kaduna and Jaji-Zaria roads, as well, in full military uniforms.
