This morning, news broke out that Mavin act, Di’ja and her husband just had a baby boy. She shared this on IG and wrote ”So Thankful to the Almighty for an amazing journey. Thank you to my family and amazing friends for your ongoing support. Thank you to my Mavin family who are forever providing me with guidance and last but not least my amazing fans for their undying love, well wishes and badASS encouragement. She also shared a cute video announcing the happy news and also confirming she is married.
Recall late last year, news surfaced that Di’ja had gotten married in an extremely private traditional wedding ceremony held in Kaduna, which she never admitted to or comment about. Di’ja kept everything about her life, marriage and even pregnancy secret, as there was no pregnancy photos, announcement or social media or big revelation in magazines.
The same story goes for Osas Ajibade and Tonto Dikeh, both of which everyone was well aware of their marriages but no details was known about their pregnancies. For Osas and Gbenro Ajibade, they revealed to the World in May on the cover of Genevieve Magazine and a month later they welcomed a baby girl, even as they mentioned that the baby came earlier than expected.
Tonto Dikeh leads the squad as she got married to Oladunni Churchill on August 29, 2015 and kept a low profile till the moment she announced on social media that she welcomed a baby boy earlier this year in February with her maternity pregnancy photos. Tonto has since been giving us little glimpses of her baby from time to time.
For all these ladies, one thing is clear and it all deals with privacy. These ladies were not comfortable about disclosing information about their pregnancies. This is entirely opposite as to what transpires in celebrity circles where we know all the information from conception to the morning sickness to baby showers then to out to bed.
It seems the new norm in Nigeria entertainment industry for pregnant celebrities is to go below the radar, passing a message across that their private life is far different from their public life. These ladies are drawing a line between her private life and public life. Looking at the divorce rates of celebrities, this new trend of low-key pregnancies we hope will help prevent bitter and messy divorces and promote long-lasting marriages.
