Legendary singer Koffi Olomide, 60, has been sentenced to a year in prison in Kinshasa, the capital of Congo for assaulting a woman in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to The Star in Kenya, Koffi Olomide was taken to court shortly after his arrest and charged with assaulting one of his female dancers known as Pamela.
The Congolese singer denied assaulting her while his lawyer George Wajackoyah accused the police of manhandling the singer. Koffi Olomide later was found guilty and sentenced to a year in jail.
Recall that last week a footage of the singer physically assaulting one of his female Dancers in Kenya went viral. Olomide’s performance which was scheduled during the 2016 90th Show at the Zambia’s Agricultural And Commercial Society, was cancelled following his incorrigible actions at the airport where he beat up the dancer.
The President of the management Committee, Ben Shoko, disclosed on Sunday, July 24, 2016 that the cancellation is a direct result of Olomide’s actions at the airport.
Koffi Olomide has been arrested and questioned on orders of the Attorney-General. “May the righteousness of man be just and fair” wrote the singer on his Facebook page.
