Nigerians woke up today 22nd June 2016, to an online war between First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari and Ekiti state Governor, Dr Ayo Fayose. The whole drama started when Dr Ayo Fayose started on Monday, June 20, 2016 when Governor Fayose’s Zenith bank account was frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A source at the EFCC alleged that Fayose received sums of money from the office of the National Security Adviser with which he bribed security officials and voters to get into the Ekiti governorship for the second time. The said account contained the sum of N2.1billion, an amount found out to be richer than the impoverished state he is presiding over.
But Mrs Buhari who was not satisfied took to Twitter and described Fayose as an ”Unchained mad dog”
While Nigerian debates on who is wrong or who should have kept quiet, all there is to know is that this is a fight between two political parties, the ruling party, All Progressive Congress and the opposition rival party, Peoples Democratic Party. This isn’t the first online war of words between the two parties and this will definitely not the last. These two parties will forever oppose each other even as there are over 50 other parties in Nigeria.
These two political parties will continue to antagonize the other whenever one is in government. It is up to the people of each party attacking and throwing shades at each other to know the best way to reply. But remember we are all humans and there is a limit to what we can take. As everybody already know this year 2016 has been a year of no chill for all celebrities and it seems likewise on the political front too.
Let’s all keep chill and watch how 2016 continues to unfold.
