Hi NGTrends Readers,
So, I work professionally as a graphic designer, but also make a decent amount of money through commissioned paintings or selling prints of my original works. Now a major theme of mine is provocative, pin up style girls. Everyone I know loves them (even my religious, super conservative side of the family) except for my girlfriend, to the point where her disgust makes me feel like a shitty artist. We’ve talked about it and she tells me it’s because she’s jealous, that she feels like I paint these girls because I want someone like them and not her. I’ve tried to explain that my artwork is just artwork and that I really truly do love her, I’ve always been faithful to her. Is this something that I can ever change her opinion about? I feel like it’s really ruining our relationship as my artwork is a huge part of my life, and to not have the support of the one person I care about is really soul crushing.
