President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered immediate crack down on the new militant group, who blew up the Chevron pipeline platform few days ago.
The militant group called the Niger Delta Avengers, who took responsibility for the sabotage at Okran offshore, in Warri had said even the military would not be able to save the oil explorers from their hands.
The blown up pipeline in Warri was linking Warri and Kaduna refineries, leading to the lose of 105,000 barrels of oil production in three days.
Reports from Punch says it was the attacks, which has the potential of adversely affecting the revenue of the country, that lead to President’s directive to the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Force to stop the activities of the new group.
A presidential aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “The President gave special instruction to the military, especially to the Chief of Naval Staff, that this ugly development of vandals in the Niger Delta should end immediately.”
