Gunmen Kidnap Three Female Students In Lagos



No fewer than three students of Babington Macaulay ‎Junior Seminary School, a private school in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, have been abducted by some gunmen.

It was learnt that the bandits stormed the school at about 8.30 pm on Monday and seized the children.

The ‎Lagos State Police Command confirmed that three schoolgirls were abducted. However unconfirmed reports said the number of the abducted students was more than three.

It was gathered that the armed men who gained entry from behind the school, by breaking the perimeter fence which served as protection for the boarding students.

Report has it that the Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni and a team of crack detectives were at the school premises till about 4am on Tuesday. The state command’s spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos who confirmed the incident, said that efforts were working to track the abductors and rescue the girls. “Yea, three female students were taken away by some criminals on Monday night but investigations are on to track then.  At this moment, we cannot give you more information but you will be briefed as event unfolds,” she said.

Owoseni, and an assistant Inspector-General of Police, B. Hassan, are holding a closed-door meeting with the parents of the students. The senior police officials, who arrived the school this morning with military men, inspected the school premises before the meeting started. BMJS is a co-educational secondary institution of Lagos Anglican Dioceses and model private missionary school, was founded on October 18, 1996 by late Most Reverend Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye.
