Our woman Crush Wednesday (#WCW) has maintained a good reputation for herself, and is helping in every little way that she can to put smiles on faces of those who needs to be uplifted positively.
Toyin Sokefun-Bello (born 14 January), better known as TY Bello, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, photographer and philanthropist.
Let remind you that the ‘Let’s live together’ crooner was part of the girl group Kush that parted ways long time ago. She is also a member of the Nigerian photography collective, Depth of Field.
She is best known for her singles “Greenland”, “Ekundayo”, “This Man”, “Freedom” and “Funmise”. (we still love those songs TY)
She’s got a degree in economics from the University of Lagos, and briefly practiced journalism and eventually ventured into photography which she loves so much. (Smartie isn’t she?)
She was a photographer to the Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Ebele Goodluck Jonathan, she also does work for Thisday fashion magazine.
TY is married to Kashetu Bello since 2009. The couple gave birth to twin boys named Christian and Christopher on 10 October 2014, which coincidentally marked the release of The Morning Songbook.
