Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, stopped by the Scandal set on Monday nightwhile in Los Angeles on a fundraising trip, and Olivia Pope, (Kerry Washington) and company were quick to document the high-profile visit on social media.
“So, this happened while I was directing tonight. No big deal. #imwithher,” said star Scott Foley in a post that showed Clinton laughing alongside Republican TV president Tony Goldwyn.
Olivia Pope herself, also documented the pop-in: Kerry Washington, who is dressed in a purple suit, looks on as Clinton, wearing a green suit, shakes hands with the cast and crew.
“A good friend came by set today,” Washington captioned the photo. “Proud to say… #imwithher.”
Clinton, who won Saturday’s Nevada caucuses, was in L.A. on Monday to raise money for her campaign. She held two fundraisers: one in Studio City, hosted by Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali and Anita Hirsh; and later, another at the Hancock Park home of producer and entertainment executive Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jon Vein, the co-founder and CEO of MarketShare.
Meanwhile, in season 5 of the ABC political drama, Goldwyn (who campaigned for Clinton during the Nevada primary last week) runs the Oval as Fitzgerald Grant — but the second half of the season will see current first lady Mellie Grant (played by Bellamy Young) campaigning for president.
