Dokpesi Leads Top Officials Of DAAR Communications To Aso Rock, Presents “Giant” Greetings Card To Buhari
Chairman of DAAR Communications, owners of AIT and Ray Power F.M, Raymond Dokpesi (Jnr), yesterday led a team of the media company to the State House in Abuja, where they presented a giant seasonal greetings card to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The team led by Dokpesi Jnr., includes Mr. Tony Akiotu (Group MD), Imoni Mac Amarere (MD, DAAR News Services), Paulyn Ugbodaga (Head, Human Resource) and Kunle Onime (Head, Corporate Communications).
They were received by Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to President Buhari, as well as Mr. Justin Abuah, Director of Information in the Presidency.
It would be recalled that the founder of DAAR Communications and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Raymond Dokpesi is standing trial for a six-count charge bordering on alleged involvement in the $2.1 billion arms procurement fraud and breach of public trust preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr. Dokpesi (snr), who was arraigned on December 9 alongside his company, DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited, had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was subsequently granted bail in the sum of N200 million on December 14 by Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
But in an unprecedented move, considering the fact that DAAR Communications never sent seasonal greetings card to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dokpesi (Jnr) yesterday presented the giant card to President Buhari with the message:
“The chairman, Board of Directors, Management and staff of DAAR Communications Plc, proprietors and operators of Raypower FM, Africa Independent Television and Faaji FM, most heartily felicitate with Your Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and family on the occasions of Eid Maulud, Christmas and New Year 2016”.
