On Friday, January 22, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail of N300 million to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh for allegedly destroyinh a statement he wrote in the EFCC head office.
Metuh was arraigned in court by the EFCC on Thursday, January 21st on a two-count charge of destroying evidence to be used against him in a separate trial he is facing relating to the N2.1 billion arms deal fraud.
Metuh pleaded not guilty to the accusation. The presiding judge, Justice Ishaq Bello, then granted him bail in the sum of N300m and two sureties in like sum. Justice Bello refused Metuh’s counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu’s application to grant him bail on self recognition.
