The 2016 budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari few days to Christmas, has reportedly gone missing.
The budget proposal, which was rumoured to have been withdrawn by the Presidency over a week ago, went missing as Senators resumed from their Christmas and New Year breaks to deliberate on the document.
The disappearance of the budget proposal was reportedly announced during a closed door session at the National Assembly on Tuesday.
According to reports, Senate Leader Ali Ndume made the disclosure during the closed door session.
Recall that President Buhari had submitted a N6.08 trillion budget to the National Assembly on December 22, 2015.
Meanwhile, Senate President Bukola Saraki on Tuesday afternoon visited the Presidential Villa where he held a closed door meeting with President Buhari.
There was no clue as to whether the visit was connected to the alleged missing 2016 budget as Saraki politely declined all entreaties by State House correspondents to disclose his mission at the Presidential Villa.
