Buratai gave the reassurance when he addressed officers and men of the 72 Special Force Battalion in Makurdi, Benue State
“We have a task to end Boko Haram once and for all. We must accomplish the task soon as your colleagues in the North-east are doing very well”, he said even as he sounded a note of warning to soldiers that the army under his leadership will not tolerate the molestation of innocent civilians.
Gen. Buratai said the purpose of his visit to Makurdi was to obtain first-hand information on challenges facing the army in the state, and urged them not to relent in maintaining good relations with their host communities as issues of accommodation and transportation among others, were being handled from the headquarters.
Buratai, however, decried the recent clash between soldiers of Nigerian Army Military School of Engineering (NASME) Makurdi, and their North Bank host community.
