Nigerian music star, Sean Tizzle recently listened to Omawumi’s cover of Adele’s “Hello” (download it here) and he loved it as much as we did. He loved the infusion of Reggae and loved how Omawumi sounded on the track.

He even thinks she did a lot better than Adele on the track and called Adele’s original song ‘weak’.

See his tweets which is causing a bit of controversy on Twitter below.

  1. Adele “Hello” was the best and i can’t wait till February or March for Adele to win Grammy. Omawunmi never thought of “Hello” cover if not Adele sang it so what are we talking about…. 250millions views not Adele limits OK Kudos to Adele for the real job…. Omawunmi though your talented and you have a Good voice in fact I was impressed by the you sang the hello cover and the producer that added the reggae version to it… kudos to him also but Adele version was superb …. please to be candid… Never compare and contract Nigerian artists with USA and England artists because they don’t just sing anyhow for money… it takes Adele years before she released single Hello after her first album in 2012.

  2. And tizzle just said that Africans we prefer to promote other countries than ours all this 250million views am sure would be Africans…why can’t we compare Adele to
Omawunmi bcos she is white mtcheww…. Wake up africans

  3. What is the population of Nigeria in particular and Africa in general, 250 millions views can never came from Africa. Adele is a Big Star in United State, A country where all dream come through…You can be anything at all in that country so it has been a while Adele has released songs and immediately she released one… her fans are very curious to hear her new single titled “Hello” that prompted the 250millons views. Only psquare and Yemi Alade broke the jinx first ever African musicians to get 40millions YouTube views… They didn’t sing or do a song cover to attained that… And that’s hard work. African, it shows that we are still lagging behind due to failure of our government to enhance technology and infrastructure in Africa. Thank you.
