I’m Ready To Play For Man United: De Gea Insists He’s Prepared To Feature For Red Devils
David De Gea has declared himself ready to play for Manchester United despite the ongoing transfer rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid, as per the Daily Mail.
Louis van Gaal dropped De Gea for United’s first Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur, claiming the 24-year-old wasn’t in the right frame of mind to play, as per the report.
De Gea’s replacement, Sergio Romero, kept a clean sheet as United won the match 1-0, courtesy of a Kyle Walker own goal.
However, according to the report, De Gea feels he is perfectly ready to start in goal for United and at no point told Van Gaal he wasn’t prepared to play for the club.
The report continues that Van Gaal will continue to play Romero in goal and will not consider De Gea for selection until the transfer window has shut.
David De Gea made 78 saves during the 2014/15 campaign
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best Premier League goalkeepers since moving from Atletico Madrid in June 2011 and is reportedly Madrid’s prime candidate to replace Iker Casillas.
Last season, De Gea made 37 appearances, only missing the final game of the season against Hull City, in which he was replaced by Victor Valdes, after picking up an injury.
