South African media personality and D’Banj’s rumored girlfriend Bonang Matheba has lost a lucrative job offer from pan-African TV channel Ebony Life TV.
The sexy media personality it the latest victim of the battle between Multichoice and SABC over local (South African) talents. Bonang is said to have had a deal in principle with ELTV and Multichoice but she lost the job because she wouldn’t let go of her current job on SABC3, Express Talk Show.
Bonang was expected to be the host of “Moment” an upcoming talk show on ELTV which will expose her talents to 8 African countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and her home country South Africa. Bonang had been advised by Head of Ebony Life TV Entertainment, Sandra Amadio to leave her current job which will allow her pick a new job -which will pay her in dollars but she wanted both. SABC didn’t allow her the chance to pick her new job because it represents a conflict of interest, Sunday World reports.
To rub salt to her wounds, Ebony Life TV has replaced Bonang with her arch rival and one of the most sorted after on South African TV, Lerato Kganyago who is also a DJ and works on Metro FM.
Sunday World reached out to Bonang, she insists (surprisingly) is still taking the job and she is on her way to Lagos to shoot few episodes but it is understood that Lerato will start shooting few episodes at Red Pepper Studios in Randburg from July 1st.
