Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood is one of the biggest movie industries in the world. In many countries especially in Africa, Nollywood movies have massive appeal and the actors and actresses are loved and adored. Nollywood has brought glory to Nigeria in many ways but the industry seems to be plagued with divorce and failed marriages.
Superstar actresses like Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde are celebrated today for being able to have kept her home in one piece for many years and still do well professionally. It is very rare to find a successful actor especially actresses who hasn’t gone through divorce in the industry.
When we felt like there was hopes in Kate Henshaws marriage of many years, the actress followed the footsteps of the others and filed for divorce.
At some point, it may seem like an actress will need a string of extra ordinary powers to keep her home together. Many of them who got married while trying to be popular suddenly gets carried away by the unprecedented fame and subsequent desire by everyone they get and break up.
The likes of Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim and Chika Ike are a good example. Nollywood like entertainment in its totality is a very harsh terrain that can destroy a home if not well handled and the actors and actresses seem not to care.
