Angel Di Maria appears to be edging closer to joining Manchesater United with the club said to be hopeful of agreeing a £150,000-a-week contract offer.
Real Madrid are believed to want a fee of at least £40million for the 26-year-old, who will be free to sort out his future after Sunday’s World Cup final.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal who is a big fan of Di Maria, hopes both teams reach an agreement to bring him down to old Trafford.
However, Manchester United is confident the deal will fall through since Di María, who is also believed to have offers from PSG, Monaco and two Italian teams, has always hinted that he would be interested in a transfer to England.
Di María who missed the semi-final match against the Netherlands with a thigh injury participated in a light training session with the rest of the team and is expected to fit to play against Germany in the Brasil 2014 world cup final on Sunday.
