The Ghanaian government have denied the news making the rounds that over 200 Ghanaian supporters want seek asylum in Brasil.
“The basis for this alleged request is completely false as no religious conflict is taking place in Ghana,” said a statement from Deputy information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
The Country have however come to the defense of its citizens putting an halt to claims made by the Brazilian police.
“Ghana is seen as one of West Africa’s most peaceful and prosperous countries there is nothing as such in the country.” Ofosu added.
Police in Brazil believe the Ghanaians are looking for the right to work legally in the country.
Meanwhile “Ghanaian representatives in Brazil have been instructed to liaise with the Brazilian authorities to investigate the matter,” he said.
