Colin Farrell is in talks for one of the lead roles on the next series of HBO show True Detective.
The Irish actor, 38, would follow in the footsteps of last season’s stars Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey and
Bosses have hinted the full cast for the new series of the hit crime drama would be announced soon.
HBO president Michael Lombardo said: “I think the people we will cast will be well-known names.
“But that wasn’t our ambition [in season one].”
Creator Nic Pizzolatto has confirmed the new series will be set in California and feature at least three lead roles.
He added: “We’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambience of the place, much like we did in season one.”
